Hello!

I’m an illustrator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I grew up in the redwood forest of California’s Central Coast, before spending a decade in downtown Oakland - a shift from tall trees and bright banana slugs to bustling humanity and watchful herons. I now live in the north Bay Area with my little family and my big stacks of books and paints.

When I’m not at my desk, I can often be found exploring the nearby wetlands, tinkering in the kitchen, or fielding questions from my preschooler about what snowflakes are, how train engines work, and whether elephants are warm blooded.

Education

Before making art my main focus, I earned BAs in Literature and Anthropology, then went on to complete Masters programs in Folklore and Museology. After some years working in museums and libraries, I felt the pull to pour more energy into artwork. I am primarily self-taught, but I’ve supplemented my independent exploration with professional courses from former agent Lilla Rogers, illustrator Mike Lowery, SVSLearn, and the Good Ship Illustration.
